Cosmetic Acupuncture Q&A

1. How does Cosmetic Acupuncture work?
Small thin needles are inserted in the facial muscle lines promoting muscles relaxation, toning, and rebuilding of collagen. For deeper facial lines, stronger needles stimulation is sometimes necessary. Skin tissues and blood rejuvenation are another primary gain of Cosmetic Acupuncture.

2. What does it feel like?
A light prick at the insertion of the needles, followed by a feeling of pulling, nipping and tucking in the facial muscles and lines.

3. Is the procedure painful?
No, it is not painful. A discomfort is experienced when the facial muscles and tissues are tight or inflamed. Patient will experience a slight pain or tender sensation.

4. What does it mean when a facial acupuncture point or area where needles were inserted bleed, swell or leave sore minor bruises on the skin?
This indicates that the targeted facial areas held toxins and carried inflammation. The acupuncture needles eliminate these from the face. In addition, this is a great aid in cleansing the digestive organs.

5. How many sessions must one have?
Minimum 5 to maximum 30 sessions, depending on the severity and depth of the facial lines and the health conditions of the client.

6. What are the other options recommended in supporting facial cosmetic acupuncture.
Good sleep, rest, drinking lots of water, relaxing the face, controlling one’s emotions - especially anger and fear. We all have heard of “Sleeping Beauty” and “Buddha Face”. “Serenity & Peaceful Face” and “Tai Chi & Meditation”.

7. How often should one come for treatment?
1-2 sessions per week are recommended.

8. How soon will I see results?
After the first session, depending on the severity of the facial muscles and lines, and the health conditions of the client.

9. How does Cosmetic Acupuncture differ to Botox?
Cosmetic Acupuncture is natural, non-toxic and non-invasive.

10. Who should be doing Cosmetic Acupuncture?
Women and men who would like to look healthy and youthful.

We hope that those few questions and answers help you understand Cosmetic Acupuncture a little bit more.

May you look and feel youthful in Body, Mind and Spirit.
